Tallinn Urology Clinic

The interior architecture of the clinic, delivered as a turnkey solution with author’s supervision

Tallinn Center for Urology, Sexology and Andrology

In a commercial and medical building located on Merivälja Road in Pirita, we developed an interior architecture solution for a clinic specializing in urology, andrology, and sexual medicine.

The starting point of the project was the client’s sketch and two keywords: dignified and intriguing. Equally clear was the intention to avoid the typical sterile clinic aesthetic. The result is an interior with terracotta accents, where the usual coldness of medical spaces is replaced by a warm and balanced atmosphere.

Following the concept phase, we focused on spatial logic. We analyzed circulation and functions, shaping the elongated layout into a cohesive whole, where the waiting area, open wardrobe, and reception form a fluid and inviting entrance. As the clinic operates on a personalized appointment model, it was essential to create an intimate and unified spatial experience, avoiding an anonymous and fragmented solution.

All spaces are designed according to a unified logic — furniture, lighting, and technical solutions work together rather than separately. The staff areas follow the same approach, ensuring the spatial experience remains consistent throughout. The apparent simplicity of the final result is supported by detailed design, continuous collaboration, and carefully considered decisions at every stage.

Furniture is treated as an integral part of the interior architecture. Contemporary pieces and custom-designed solutions support the overall composition through both form and materiality. Practical elements are seamlessly integrated, ensuring they do not appear technical, but rather as a natural part of the whole.

One of the key starting points was a narrow entrance, which initially seemed like a limitation but evolved into a strength in the design process. It became the basis for a warm and clearly defined waiting area that gently guides visitors into the space and creates the first connection with the interior’s atmosphere.

A project does not end with drawings — it continues on site. Throughout the process, we ensured that the execution remained aligned with the original concept. Early, well-considered decisions and continuous supervision help keep the construction process smooth and ensure a high-quality final result.

It all started with two words — dignified and intriguing. The result is a space that quietly and confidently supports both the doctor’s work and the patient’s experience.
