Little Dreamer’s Room

A gentle and cozy room for a little dreamer

We present a children’s room created especially for a young girl starting school, designed with both her needs and her family’s wishes in mind. Previously shared by two siblings, the room was transformed into a personal space for the middle child to mark the beginning of her school journey. Our goal was to create an environment that is playful and cozy, yet offers enough functionality for both studying and storage.

We were given creative freedom in this project, but alongside beauty, practicality was just as important. We presented the family with two different furniture layout options, allowing them to choose the most suitable one, and together we planned the wardrobe system to ensure that everyday items would be conveniently accessible. The main tone of the interior became timeless white, enlivened by the vibrant Native Pink and complemented by pink accents in the bed and rug, creating a whole that is both playful and elegant.

The final result was achieved through thoughtful solutions: a 120 cm wide bed proved to be the ideal choice, as it is both comfortable and spacious, yet perfectly proportioned for a children’s room. Cleverly designed wardrobes provide ample storage space while remaining visually light, a dedicated study corner supports learning and drawing, and a magnetic wall adds both playfulness and practicality. Soft shapes and a custom-shaped rug bring airiness and safety to the room, all tied together by the harmony of white and Native Pink tones – bright, childlike, yet timelessly beautiful.

A continuation of a classic home in the children’s room

Since the entire house had already been designed in light tones with classical accents, we carried the same style into the children’s room interior. For example, the existing style is echoed in the handle design, but instead of nickel we chose copper fittings, which blend softly with the pink tones. As a charming and distinctive accent, the solid wood table legs, turned and painted by a local craftsman, stand out as one of the most memorable details of the design. Deliberately chosen curved forms and rounded edges prevent the risk of injury while creating a cozy and gentle overall impression.

The family did not wish to change the existing general lighting, but as an addition we introduced cozy accent lighting by the headboard and effective task lighting above the desk using LED profile fixtures. The result is a harmonious whole that combines the child’s joy and playfulness with the family’s expectations, creating a room that is equally suited for studying and relaxing.
